Spa Montage, a Sanctuary on Santa Maria Bay
The word spa can be very misleading. It can simply mean a room where you get a massage or a 43,000 sq foot masterpiece. As you can probably guess, when I go to a spa, I want more than a massage room. So when we were in Cabo for our anniversary trip (and the last big trip we took pre pandemic, boo hoo), I had to experience what was described to me as the best spa in Cabo San Lucas—Spa Montage. Brand new and completely magnificent, it lived up to the hype.
The entry way is grand, setting your expectations exactly where they should be—very high.
The design brought the outside in, so if you need a break from the sun, you can spend your time here alternating between the hot tub and the steam room located just steps away.
When you book a treatment, you have access to the incredible facilities which includes an outdoor pool and hot tub, steam rooms and hot and cold plunge pools. The hotel had just opened, so my husband and I had the place practically to ourselves. Pure heaven!
I got a 60 minute massage and that was my only disappointment. My massage at Las Ventanas (where we were staying) was one of the best of my life, and this one just didn’t compare. I would still go back and try again with a different therapist.
We timed our massages so we had enough time to spend in the spa before and after, and still make it to the hotel restaurant just before sunset.
The property is stunning—with both hotel rooms as well as residences.
We strolled down to Marea by Night, their open air beachfront restaurant for dinner just as the sun set. It really doesn’t get any better.
